2. How We Use Your Data
- To process your registration and confirm payment.
- To send you the exam link and important updates via email.
- To grade your exam and display your rank on the leaderboard.
- To detect and prevent cheating during the exam.
- To distribute prizes to winners.
- To improve our platform for future events.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We share data only with:
- Razorpay — for payment processing. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Azure — our cloud database provider for secure data storage.
- Vercel — our hosting provider for the website.
- Government authorities — only if required by law (e.g., TDS filing for prize winners).
4. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored on Microsoft Azure SQL servers located in Central India.
- Data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encrypted).
- Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay — we never store card numbers or UPI credentials.
- We follow data localization requirements under India's DPDP Act 2023.
5. Data Retention
- Registration and exam data is retained for 1 year after the competition.
- Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.
- You may request deletion of your data after the competition concludes.
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for data processing (note: this will cancel your registration).
- Nominate a representative for data-related requests.

7. Cookies
MedCase Challenge 2026 does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We only use essential browser localStorage to maintain your session during the exam (e.g., to remember your userId and payment status).
8. Children's Privacy
Our platform is intended for adults (18+) who are enrolled in medical colleges. We do not knowingly collect data from persons under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
